The extra point tied the score at 21 and sent the game into OT.

Both teams scored on their first overtime possessions to make the score 28-28. Carroll scored first in the 2nd OT to make it 35-28. On Allens possession, Brown scored on a 10 yard run to make it 35-34. Allen lined up for the XP but Carroll called time out. Current Longest Win Streaks Through 2008

Wins - Team (District)
42 — Austin Lake Travis (25-4A) Moves to 5th place all-time ahead of Hull-Daisetta, 1935-1939. #4 is Cuero (4A), 1973-1975 with 44 consecutive wins.
25 — Carthage (18-3A)

Highlights:

5A Garland and 5A Tyler Lee met up in the playoffs for the 3rd time since 2004. Tyler Lee won in a bi-district matchup in 2004 28-10, Garland won last year in the Area round 13-10 and Tyler Lee avenged that loss this year with a 23-17 victory this year also in the Area round.
.
Speaking of 5A Garland. Their defense was terrific this year. They had only given up more than 16 points once this year and they won that game. Only 139 points given up over 11 games is not too bad.
.
4A Wolfforth Frenship finishes the season with four losses for the first time since 2004 and just the second time since 1999. On the positive side, they did have thier 17 CONSECUTIVE WINNING SEASON and just missed out (7-5 record) on their 11th Consecutive 8+ win season. It does make it their 12th consecutive season with 7+ wins though.
.
5A Dallas Skyline Wide Receiver Mike Davis caught 7 passes for 263 yards and scored 4 TDs in their 41-36 win over DeSoto.
.
