Beaumont Central Coach Takes Little Elm Job
January 27, 2009
Head Coach Donald Stowers is leaving Beaumont Central to take the head coaching job at Little Elm which is a Class 4A school in the Fort Worth area.
Central finished the 2008 season at 9-4 season. Stowers lead the Jags to the fourth round of the playofss before losing to Friendswood, 20-19.
In four years, Stowers and Central went 28-16
China Spring Star Is Going To Baylor
January 27, 2009
Mike Hicks the star Reciever/Safety for the China Spring Cougars will be staying close to home and will play at Baylor.
Hicks plans to play safety for the Bears after finishing as the second leading receiver in Texas high school football history with 228 catches for 4,327 yards and 41 touchdowns.
Mike caught 45 passes for 926 yards and 11 touchdowns during the 2008 season. He also rushed for 500 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
His defensive play was outstanding also finishing with 4 interceptions.

Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year Is Going To Wake Forest
January 26, 2009
Nikita Whitlock, the Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year from Wylie has accepted an offer to play at Wake Forest next season. Wake Forest increased their interest last week after losing a defensive commit.
Whitlock has not been getting the interest you would think after leading the Wylie defense on their way to the 5A Division II state final. Most schools were concerned over his size. Wake Forest will try the 5′11″ 240 pound noseguard out at linebacker.
Nikita finished the seasaon with 165 tackles, 15 sacks, 25 tackles for loss.
